Over the past year I have been researching the E-Business Maturity Model. To develop and validate this model, I have used the following (standard) approach:
- desktop research: investigating e-business growth models and stages in development
- model definition: using available information and Atos best practices, a model to be validated was defined
- interviews: several formal interviews were conducted with representatives from the electronics and chemicals sectors (including: Organon, Akzo Nobel, Canon, Philips Consumer Electronics, NXP, Philips Lighting).
- model validation: the results of the interviews were reworked into the model, leading to a draft EBMM 2.0 model
- expert panel: discussion on the key findings of the research, validating the results. Also identifying key issues currently on the e-business agenda
- maturity scan definition: based on the research and Atos standard techniques, a maturity scan was methodology developed
Next step(s): in 2008, a quantitative research will be performed by the Atos Consulting Trends Institute. It’s aim is to validate the EBMM 2.0 accross sectors, establishing sector benchmarks (dependent on the number of participants per sector).
I have updated the E-Business Maturity Model description and findings again, including the most recent findings.
The extended (detailed) model is also available. Please contact me for that.

I want to know is there any published work on this model? I am not able to find any paper related to that.
Hi Faiza, yes, there is a publication. A copy of the research report can be dowloaded at: http://www.forms-atosorigin.com/e-business-maturity-benchmark-2008/
